Info Booths
Extension Master Gardener volunteers host information booths throughout the county – at community events, farmers markets, garden centers, garden clubs, and more. This is a great way to have volunteers answer your horticultural questions and connect your community to helpful resources.
To schedule an Extension Master Gardener information booth at your upcoming event, email us at hcmg@umn.edu.
Farmers Markets
Extension Master Gardener volunteers answer questions and share gardening information at many neighborhood farmers markets in Minneapolis and at several suburban locations.
Bring your questions, photos, or a clipping from your problem plants! It is fun to have your questions answered while experiencing the bounty of Minnesota-grown produce. Check our Farmers Market events page in spring and summer to find volunteers at a market near you.
New farmers markets are added each year. We are always looking to expand our reach, so if you would like to see Master Gardener volunteers at your local market, ask farmers market staff to email us. Typically, market staff provide our volunteers with a table, chairs, and pop-up tent. Our volunteers bring reference materials, signage, and more.
Garden Centers
In the spring, Extension Master Gardener volunteers provide a valuable service to nurseries and garden centers throughout Hennepin County. Volunteers provide recommendations to customers while answering their horticultural questions. Volunteers host info booth tables or wander around the store to connect with the customers.
Please note: our volunteers are not sales people – they provide horticultural information only!
Home and Garden Show
You can find Extension Master Gardener volunteers at the annual Minneapolis Home and Garden Show each spring! While you’re looking around at the many vendors and dreaming about this year’s yard and garden improvements, you can ask the Master Gardener volunteers your plant-related questions.
Garden Clubs, Community Events, and More!
Extension Master Gardener volunteers are available to host an information booth to answer horticultural questions. With advance notice, they can even tailor resources and information to meet your event’s needs or theme, such as pollinators or composting.
