School Year 2020-21: Distance Learning
The 2020-21 school year has proven to be very challenging for teachers, parents, and youth leaders to deliver valuable learning opportunities to children. Hennepin County Master Gardeners are reaching out to provide more mentoring and consultation to educators and adapting lessons and activities for distance learning and at-home activities. Over the summer a “Back-to-School” Taskforce was formed to help determine ways MG volunteers could provide horticulture learning opportunities without person-to-person sessions. Below you will find “Lesson Kits” on four foundational youth gardening topics. Please feel free to share these with educators, parents or youth leaders. While the lessons are based on the Junior Master Gardener program developed at Texas A&M, we feel with a little creativity and flexibility each lesson can stand on its own.
