The story of the ‘Shady Acres’ rosemary begins with Therea Mieseler and her husband Jim, founders of the Shady Acres Farm in Chaska, MN. Theresa was struck by the excellent fragrance and strong upright growth habit of a particular rosemary plant, and she collaborated with herbal experts to confirm its excellent cooking quality. She introduced it to the market in 1999 as ‘Shady Acres’ rosemary.

Theresa keeps her rosemary on her deck, where it’s close to her kitchen and easy to snip for cooking. Use ‘Shady Acres’ rosemary with grilled or roasted chicken, potatoes, lamb, salmon, eggs, butters, drinks, and pizza dough.

‘Shady Acres’ rosemary sold out early at last year’s sale, so we’ve almost tripled our quantity for 2024. Come check out this fabulous rosemary, as well as our extensive assortment of herbs. Quantities will be 40% greater than last year.
