“Growing Connections” for people with early dementia

Growing Connections is a free gardening program created exclusively for people living with early dementia, and for their care partners, offered by Hennepin County Master Gardeners in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association.

This unique series began in 2017, when HCMG Ann Thureen met with the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter (alz.org/mnnd), and gathered a team of HCMGs to create a series of casual gardening classes that focus on learning and having fun “in the moment.” No garden, gardening experience, or green thumb required!

This spring, we will be offering six weeks of in-person classes at the Hopkins Activity Center (33 14th Avenue North in Hopkins). To learn more about Growing Connections and how to register, please contact the Alzheimer’s Association Help Line at 1-800-272-3900.
