Explore 10 inspiring gardens at the Hennepin County Master Gardener Learning Garden Tour!

This year’s self-guided tour highlights ten gardens across southern Hennepin County, including the cities of Bloomington, Edina, Minneapolis, and Richfield.

Each stop is the personal landscape of a Hennepin County Master Gardener volunteer, showcasing research-based techniques and varied designs that are adaptable for any skill level or space. Attendees can consult with on-site volunteers to receive expert advice tailored to their specific gardening challenges.

Tour features include:

  • Diverse Landscapes: Explore ten distinct gardens ranging in style, size, and design.
  • Education Stations: Learn practical skills at every stop, including budget-friendly gardening, tree pruning, and cut flower gardening.
  • Shopping & Resources: Browse the “Garden Shed” for unique accessories or visit the “Book Nook” for a curated selection of adult and children’s literature.
  • Practical Inspiration: Access plant lists and garden histories to help jumpstart your next home project.
  • Expert Access: Engage in one-on-one conversations with Master Gardeners to get reliable answers to your plant and soil questions.

Whether you are new to gardening or a seasoned pro, you will leave with the inspiration and knowledge needed to transform your own backyard or urban space.

Cost: $15 in advance; $20 on the day of the tour. Discounts available for groups of 10 or more. Children under 12 free with a paying adult. Please bring your receipt to check-in at your first garden stop.

The tour is held rain or shine. All ticket sales are final.

Purchasing Day of Tour

You can purchase tickets the day of the event ($20) with cash at any garden. Tickets may also be purchased with credit card at either the Book Nook or the Garden Shed.

All proceeds help support the University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener Volunteer – Hennepin County programs.

ORDERING GROUP TICKETS? Follow these instructions:

  • Under “I have an account already” or “New user” click on “I am registering one or more people”
  • Once your account is in the system, a display page reads: Who is enrolling in Learning Garden Tour registration: Hennepin County Master Gardener Volunteer Learning Garden Tour?
  • Underneath “Add one or more group members to this package” click on “Add another participant.”
  • Add another guest’s name, and email address if you have it
  • If you do not have an email address, you can use a fake email address such as Rochelle@fake.fake
  • Then click on Continue, and the system will guide you to a payment page.

Accessibility

Gardens have uneven terrain and narrow garden paths that limit wheelchair accessibility but some aspects of the gardens are viewable via sidewalk to driveway.
